Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) made a huge decision about his future with Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) in Coronation Street tonight.
Leanne has been away for the past couple of weeks visiting Simon Barlow (Alex Bain) overseas. Nick’s son Sam (Jude Riordan) decided to go with Leanne, leaving the flat completely empty for Nick and Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) to do as they please.
Following Toyah’s operation that removed her cancer, Leanne’s focus started to shift due to being so worried about her sister.
She apologised to Nick about prioritising Rowan Cunliffe’s (Emrhys Cooper) cult over just about everything else, which certainly made it look as though things were starting to change.
However, after Rowan got word that Leanne was starting to sway, he pulled her back into the organisation by tempting her with meeting CEO Willow. With Leanne convinced this was far more important than spending time with her family, it left Nick wondering if he made the right decision by stopping his affair with Toyah to be with her sister.
In tonight’s episode, Toyah and Nick woke up in the flat all alone once more. Fully aware it wouldn’t be long until they saw Leanne and Sam again, they agreed to ignore reality and spend one final day together.
Returning home after a walk, Nick and Toyah made their way to the bedroom. However, moments later, Leanne entered the flat in search of Nick. She had returned with Sam earlier than expected but when they got home initially, Nick and Toyah weren’t around.
Saving themselves from the secret being exposed in that moment, Nick and Toyah quickly covered and focused on Leanne.
During her chat with Nick, Leanne started talking about The Institute and made it perfectly clear she’s still incredibly interested in the business. While this frustrated Nick, it also pushed him closer to making a decision about Toyah.
In the Bistro office, after sharing another kiss, Toyah pointed out they shouldn’t risk kissing in a place where anyone could spot them. In that moment, Nick told Toyah he didn’t actually care anymore.
With that, he announced his plans to split up with Leanne. Nick said he’d end the relationship and wait a little while before telling everyone he’s split up with his partner to be with her sister.
Classic soap.
Nick and Toyah have said they love each other so as far as they’re concerned, they really want to be together.
But will it really go as smoothly as Nick thinks?
