Coronation Street spoilers for next week hint at danger ahead for more than one character including Joel Deering’s next target, and a life-changing new plot for Bethany Platt
Coronation Street is lining up some big scenes next week on the ITV soap, with two key storylines unfolding.
The Platts will learn some devastating news about Bethany Platt in upcoming episodes, resulting in a life-changing situation for Lucy Fallon’s character. Elsewhere, Joel Deering’s downfall continues resulting in worrying scenes for Roy Cropper, amid a heartbreaking twist for Lauren Bolton.
It could well be the end of Joel next week, after recent scenes saw Dee-Dee Bailey gathering evidence she believed would bring him down. Despite his crimes including grooming young girls and his violent assault on Lauren, as well as him trying to kill her baby, Joel has remained a free man.
But with the evidence mounting and his comeuppance on the way, with an exit filmed, it seems next week could be the moment he’s finally caught out. But it could come at a cost for more than one resident, as Joel gets drunk before turning threatening.
Joel will be shown writing a mystery letter in his notebook. Later, Joel stumbles into the café clutching a bottle of whisky, clearly drunk and locks the door behind him, but is Roy in danger?
Lauren faces more turmoil amid Joel’s strange behaviour, after she continues to track his phone to ensure her safety. She tells Dee-Dee how Joel has spent a considerable amount of time in a field and an industrial park.
He’s also transferred £5k into her account with no explanation – but what is he up to? Joel is the last thing on Lauren’s mind though, as her premature baby son Frankie continues to fight for his life.
Lauren tearfully tells Roy that her poorly son is having a scan to check for any brain damage. Frankie isn’t the only one left battling for life, as next week kickstarts a new storyline for Bethany.
In hard-hitting scenes, the character will contract sepsis following a trip to Turkey for liposuction. The deadly infection leaves her in hospital with long lasting damage and requiring a permanent stoma.
Bethany will decide to undergo liposuction at a clinic after she accepts a job with a cosmetic surgery company to write an advertorial on their new facility in Turkey. Following the procedure, Bethany’s family has to work out how to raise funds to get her discharged as she did not declare the surgery on her travel insurance.
Spoilers reveal as her mum Sarah Platt rushes to her beside, Bethany takes a turn for the worse and is barely able to breath. Amid an exit on the cards for the character, will Bethany survive?
