Coronation Street viewers are set to see dramatic scenes in Weatherfield next week, according to the latest spoilers for the ITV soap.

Toyah and Nick have a steamy affair

Jane Danson’s character Leanne Battersby promises her sister that she will use her savings to cover Rose’s funeral expenses. But that day, as Tony Maudsley’s character George Shuttleworth puts Rose’s coffin in the hearse outside the undertakers, things swiftly take a different turn.

When Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) sees Rowan Cunliffe (Emmerys Cooper) observing them from Victoria Garden, she becomes enraged and rushes over. She gives him a shove and tells him it’s not her place. Leanne subsequently confesses that Rowan paid for the funeral because she didn’t have any savings, while she watches in horror. Given that her opponent assisted in putting her daughter to sleep, how would Toyah respond?

Later, in complete despair, Leanne leaves her partner Nick Tilsley (Ben Price). Rowan is visibly rattled when Toyah confronts him and tells him she will stop at nothing to reveal the horrible man he truly is. Nick apologizes to Toyah for Leanne’s actions when she gets home and finds him by himself. At that moment, Toyah starts crying. As soon as he quickly enfolds her in his arms, their passion-filled kiss intensifies.

Later, Leanne joins Rowan for an upload session, but they don’t know that someone is monitoring them closely from the abandoned builder’s yard.

Following their intense afternoon, Toyah and Nick decide that they should avoid each other as much as possible and that it won’t happen again. Toyah informs Nick that they have no choice but to tell Leanne about their brief affair, but it appears as though her guilty conscience overcomes her. To the dismay of Nick and Toyah, a smug Rowan is holding a meeting at the Bistro.

Rowan corners Toyah and gives her a copy of the NDA, advising her to sign it. He doesn’t take Toyah’s warning lightly, though, when she makes it plain that she won’t be blackmailed and that she plans to come clean. Toyah is horrified as he quickly points out that it will destroy her sister Leanne and he will be pleased to pick up the pieces. Will Leanne hear from Toyah?

During his speech, Rowan informs the group that Leanne has been promoted to level five and he is really proud of her. Leanne revels in the spotlight as the group cheers her on, while Nick and Toyah look on with disdain.

Romane blossoms

Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) approaches Ken Barlow (Bill Roache) and tells him that they hired Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) through an agency because she is a qualified caregiver.

Ken is understandably incensed when Cassie shows up for work and discloses she has no training, having just stepped in to help out and save the family money.

Will Cassie be able to win Ken over after setting him straight and telling him that she was always honest with Steve and never pretended to be qualified?

Steve enjoys telling Cassie that her first assignment is to trim Ken’s toenails when she returns later. Ken is beginning to enjoy Cassie’s company and recommends they go out to lunch, so Cassie swallows her disgust.

While there, Cassie’s ability to get under her dad’s skin amuses Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney). Amy tells Steve that she feels some tension between them and that they seem to be sparking. He vehemently denies feeling attracted to her, though, and Amy pretends not to be amused.

Kevin’s prison threat

Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) hastily dismisses Abi Franklin’s (Sally Carman) question about his nighttime awakenings, attributing it to stress. But later, using the stolen cell phone, he makes a call to the salon.

Looking for Paddy Bever’s Max Turner’s assistance, he asks whether he can hack into it. Subsequently, a video of Kevin breaking into Stefan Brent’s (Paul Opacic) office is discovered in an email that Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) opens. But he reassures Tyronne that it’s just another deepfake video and that it’s not real. Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) discovers Kevin stole when she sees Max using the phone.

She becomes enraged and confronts Kev, telling him not to involve her family in the matter. Kevin later makes the decision to show up at Stefan’s workplace. But when Stefan threatens to put him in jail for using his camera footage of Kevin breaking and entering, the argument takes a different turn.

Abi is taken aback upon hearing Tyrone inform PC Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) that Kevin has fallen prey to a deepfake video. Will Kevin report Stefan when he gets home and sees Craig and Abi waiting for him?

Abi’s horrified by Bethany’s confession

After her interview, Bethany goes home and informs Tina O’Brien’s character Sarah Platt that she has been hired. She is dreading her first project, though.

Subsequently, Bethany informs Abi over the phone at the garage that she has been hired by the magazine. However, they want her to write a piece supporting Corey Brent (Maximus Evans) as her first piece.

Abi is horrified to learn that the guy who killed her son, Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni), would be the subject of a study that supports him.
