The soap star provided fans with an exciting behind the scenes insight as the dramatic storyline takes another twist

Coronation Street’s Channique Sterling-Brown announced “that’s a wrap” as she shared an exciting behind-the-scenes update. The soap star is renowned for her role as Dee Dee Bailey in the long-running ITV show.

It has been a turbulent time for Dee Dee on the Cobbles as she has become embroiled in Joel Deering’s reign of terror. Dee Dee was all set to marry the Weatherfield villain before she finally rumbled his sinister web of lies. Joel, played by Calum Lill, abused Lauren Bolton and forced the character to flee Cobbles.

The villain has sunk to new lows since Lauren’s return as he targeted the character, played by Cait Fitton, after he discovered she was pregnant with his child. It looked like things would finally crash down for Joel after Dee Dee finally connected the dots to uncover the awful truth about her onscreen fiance.

However, Dee Dee and DS Swain were dismayed when Joel turned himself into the police and had to be released due to a lack of evidence. Spoilers have revealed the two will team up as there could be another twist in the tale before Joel finally gets his comeuppance.

A new promo teased: “As Dee-Dee and DS Swain come together to try and take Joel Deering down for his attack and abuse of Lauren Bolton it looks like Joel has other ideas as he plots to escape his crimes. But as Joel calculates, seemingly so sure of himself, will a heartbroken Dee-Dee find the strength to bring him to justice?”

Channique regularly shares updates from her exciting life away from the screen on Instagram. She has provided an exciting update as she revealed she was currently filming a nighttime shoot for upcoming scenes.

The soap star shared a snap inside her car just after 6am alongside the caption: “That’s a wrap.” Whether or not the late night scenes could be the backdrop for her revenge on Joel remains unclear, but Joel star, Calum, also revealed he was on set for the upcoming development.

Calum, who joined the show last year, revealed he was celebrating a special personal update on the night shoot as it was his birthday. He shared a snap of Weatherfield at night with the caption: “Birthday B2B night shoot pt 1. Cheers Cozzar.”

Calum explained he was back on set later this afternoon as it seems like fans won’t see Joel get his dose of soap justice anytime soon. Channique told the ECHO in an exclusive interview at the Soap Awards how she thinks her character will get revenge on Joel.

The star insists her character will remain true to her Christian ethics as she envisions she will go through the judicial process rather than take the law into her own hands She told the ECHO: “She’s got a strong moral compass as a Christian and cares about justice.

She added: “Ultimately, she believes in justice and finding peace for his victims. She’s not one to take the law into her own hands, but you never know.” Cait, who plays Lauren, is hoping for an end to the story that is true to the roots of Coronation Street.

She said: “All of us empowering women on the show should just sort him out. We should all bring him down. I think people would love that. Empowering people is what Coronation Street is about.”
