Celebrity Jack P Shepherd of Coronation Street has declared his engagement to longtime partner Hanni Treweek.
The actor, who portrays David Platt on the ITV soap opera, proposed to influencer Hanni while on a romantic safari vacation.
The couple posted pictures of themselves on the safari kissing with the caption: “05.06.24 I said YES to forever!!! 💍😍🇹🇿🐘⛺️☀️”
The couple spent two weeks in Africa earlier this month visiting Tanzania to go on safari in the Serengeti before flying to Zanzibar for a luxury beach break.
It was while on the Serengeti that Jack proposed.
They have been together for six years having met when Hanni worked on the soap in the press office.
She later became a storyliner before quitting to become a fashion influencer.
Actor Jack has played hairdresser David in the soap for 24 years after joining as a child star in 2000.
Friends, co-stars and fans flocked to congratulate the happy couple.
Jack’s on-screen wife Julia Goulding said: “Such beautiful news! Congratulations to you both, absolutely perfect couple ❤️❤️ xxx”
Corrie’s Alan Halsall added: “😍Congratulations to the pair of you xx”
Jack’s pal and former Corrie wife Michelle Keegan also added her congratulatons, writing: “Awww congratulations to you both 🤍✨ xx”
Paula Lane, the star’s other on-screen spouse, also congratulated the couple and said she knew it was coming.
“So strange, I had a feeling about this when I saw your adventure,” the writer commented. Many congratulations to you both, xxx.
“Aww huge congratulations guys ❤️❤️,” Bhavna Limbachia continued.
The love heart emoji was delivered by Jack’s on-screen son Paddy Bever, and Georgia May Foote commented, “Aww congratulations guys!!!! X.”
