Frisco Jones hasn’t seen his daughter and ex-General Hospital flame in far too long—does he even realize he has three grandchildren? Actor Jack Wagner unquestionably has a reason to commemorate this special day, whether or not Nick Marone has appeared in episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful.

Happy Birthday, Jack Wagner

That’s because this talented performer is celebrating his 64th birthday today! He was born on October 3, 1959, in Washington, Missouri. Wagner’s entrance into the performing arts was somewhat accidental.

He tried out for the golf team and the drama department in an effort to secure a scholarship to pay for his time at the University of Arizona. The latter offered him a full ride, but the former did not accept him.

In 1982, Wagner landed his first on-screen part when he was cast as Clint Masterson in Douglas Marland’s adult soap opera A New Day in Eden, which aired during prime time on the Showtime network.

Wagner was hired by ABC’s General Hospital in 1984, where he made his acting debut as Frisco Jones. As soon as he was cast opposite Felicia Cummings, played by Kristina Wagner (née Malandro), Frisco quickly won over the audience.

The on-screen romance between Frisco and Felicia spilled over into real life, resulting in a love affair and marriage between Wagner and Malandro. Frisco and Felicia went on to become one of daytime television’s most well-liked super couples. Over a decade would pass before the union ended.

Wagner intermittently worked with General Hospital until 1995, but from 1991 to 1993, he only made appearances on NBC’s Santa Barbara, portraying Warren Lockridge and working with Sydney Penny (B.J. Walker).

The first of Wagner’s numerous collaborations with super-producer Aaron Spelling began in 1994. Prior to starring in Titans, he first appeared on Melrose Place as Dr. Peter Burns. Wagner made a fleeting appearance in the daytime soap opera Sunset Beach for his final Spelling project. Then, he gained notoriety as Nick Marone on B&B. He has played a part in When Calls the Heart ever since 2014.
