Spoiler warning for Tuesday 18th June 2024.

In the most recent episode of EastEnders, Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) faced yet another enormous turn as she fought to conceal The Six’s covert activities.

Callum Highway (Tony Clay) informed father-in-law Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) that Sharon was acting strangely in relation to her lover Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) murder. Following this, Phil visited Sharon.

He intercepted a text message from Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), who claimed that Karen, Keanu’s mother, had departed. However, Callum was doubting Karen’s account of events as she had blamed her rapist, Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo), for the murder.

Sharon attempted to brush off Phil’s demands for the truth, but in the end, she had to tell him all that had happened over Christmas.

When Sharon told Phil how Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) had attacked Suki (Balvinder Sopal), Denise Fox (Diane Parish) had knocked him down. Keanu then choked Sharon, but Linda stabbed him to save her life. Phil was astounded.

Furthermore, she clarified that Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) and Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) were now aware of the reality.

Disbelieving of this complex deception, Phil maintained that the reformed alcoholic Linda was a loose cannon, threatening to report her to the authorities personally to spare Sharon from having to live with this terrible secret for the rest of her life.

Sharon informed Phil that Linda was making an effort to become clean again and begged Phil to think about the impact his choice would have on Suki, Kathy Cotton (Gillian Taylforth), Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), and Raymond (Michael Jose Pomares Calixte), his son with Denise.

Sharon told Phil that over the years, she had lost a lot of people and that she had loved Keanu. Phil swore that no one would ever hear from him again, acknowledging that he owed Sharon after being partially to blame for the passing of her son Denny (Bleu Landau) and his father Dennis (Nigel Harman).

Sharon thought how different life might have been if she had been as certain of their connection as Phil was when they first spent the night together in the 1990s, so she and Phil went on a nostalgic walk down memory lane.

Whether they were a couple or not, Phil and Sharon would always be soulmates, so it was only fitting that they ended up sharing son Albie (Arthur Gentleman).

The episode was undoubtedly a captivating testament to Sharon and Phil’s romance, with stars Dean and McFadden utilizing their long-standing collaboration in the impactful sequences.

The exciting episode wasn’t finished yet, though, as Sharon and Phil shared a kiss to declare their agreement. We can’t help but wonder whether this means the couple will get back together for another passionate encounter!

Will Phil and Sharon try it again? And will Phil keep his word and defend The Six’s agreement?
