The upcoming episodes of EastEnders are expected to be explosive, with cast members hinting at a fire narrative that will consume Walford. There are rumors that the fire, which occurs during the 40th anniversary celebrations of the BBC soap opera, may put several buildings and characters in danger.
There are rumors that Nish Panesar, who is leaving a will that favors his grandkids above his family, is what started the fire and incited the Panesar clan to consider taking retribution.
Although the BBC has not officially confirmed the storyline, Shiv Jalota, who plays Vinny Panesar, and Sophie Khan Levy, known for her role as Priya Nandra-Hart, have suggested something fiery is on the horizon. Speaking at the Inside Soap Awards 2024 on Monday 30 September, Jalota alluded to Nish being at the centre of the drama while keeping shtum on specifics, commenting: “There is gonna be a lot of fire,” playing into the rumours.
He added: “I can’t say too much. There’s gonna be [twists and turns ahead]. Nish Panesar is such a massive villain, and Navin Chowdhry plays him so well. Anything can happen at the moment. The soap is so good right now that it’s all unpredictable.”
Sophie Lawrence, when probed about whether her character Priya in the hit series would seek vengeance on Nish before his departure, shared: “I don’t know what will happen next but there is a lot more to come [before Nish leaves],” reports the Mirror.
She went on to say, “I think for Priya, her key concern is her kids.” Elaborating further she added: “So what was revealed with Nish’s entire assets being left to them in his will was her hurrah moment. She is all about those kids so that’s the best she can hope for, but it is Nish Panesar so who knows.”
Shiv Jadoo, who plays Vinny, also hinted at his character’s intentions after the shocking attempt on his life by his father Nish, saying: “Vinny is all for his mum and he wants Suki and Eve to be happy and together. He sees that now. He wants his dad gone he doesn’t wanna be involved with him anymore He lost his inheritance but for him it’s all about Suki and Eve being together and happy.”
