Since 2021, Brian Conley has played Tom Cotton on EastEnders and has swiftly become a fan favorite. He just wed Kathy Beale, an iconic character from Walford.

The Sun claims that EastEnders’ Brian Conley has left the show, informing executives that he wants to be “written out” “as soon as possible,” according to the story.

Brian, a Tom “Rocky” Cotton actor, reportedly made the dramatic choice after having a quarrel with soap opera executives.

“It seems as though he’s just not enjoying being on EastEnders anymore,” an insider told the publication. “And he has been telling a lot of colleagues and telly buddies he wanted out for a long.

“It’s all come to a head, and at the National TV Awards last week, he was pretty open with co-stars and friends about his exit.”

They continued by saying that BBC executives are “furious” at the quick exit request.

“They’d made so many plans around him and his character, and they really thought he was in it for the long haul,” the individual stated.

There have been several whispered complaints about his derailing their goals.

They will have to alter their storyline plans to accommodate his swift escape since, whatever has gotten him worked up, it feels like he can’t get out of there fast enough.

They continued by saying that the disagreement might force the much-anticipated Christmas Day death to be changed to Tom.

According to a statement made to The Sun, “If Brian wants out, switching it around makes sense.”

When contacted by Express.co.uk, a source said: “There are many rumors and theories floating around about whose body is under the Christmas tree, but we won’t be commenting on any speculation to avoid ruining the drama for the audience.”

Could the curveball indicate that the murder victim’s identity will need to be changed in the soap opera?

In a groundbreaking flash-forward episode that aired in February, EastEnders revealed that a male character had passed away.

Around the unidentified dead body on The Vic’s floor, six Walford women were gathered.

Plans may change as a result of Brian’s departure, ruining the suspense of the story.

Brian recently discussed the Christmas Day program himself, saying it would include a “big name.”

He revealed it will be a significant character in his interview with the aforementioned outlet before adding: “None of us know who it is, we all have our guesses.

“I do know certain things; filming is currently taking place right before Christmas, and November is almost over.

“All I know is that it’s going to be very exciting and literally blow everyone away.”
