EastEnders fans have been left cringing after only just realising that Lauren Branning had a relationship with a family member during their time in Walford
The stunning revelation that Lauren Branning was involved with a family member has left EastEnders fans writhing in pain.
After making her television debut in 2006, the character (Jacqueline Jossa) soon rose to prominence as a key player in several of the most dramatic stories in the program. Lauren has been through a lot over the years, from overcoming alcoholism to learning of her father Max’s (Jake Wood) and Stacey Slater’s (Lacey Turner) covert Christmas Day affair.
Now more than ever, Lauren’s life in Walford is chaotic—especially in light of the new revelation about her son Louie. She has also drawn the interest of Micah Balfour’s character, Junior Knight, the infamous charmer.
In addition, Lauren has had a lot of romantic adventures in Walford, including a tumultuous relationship with Peter Beale (Thomas Law), the father of her kid. Nonetheless, her contentious 2013 liaison with her first cousin Joey Branning (David Witts) has sparked new discussions among admirers.
Their on-screen romance sparked controversy among fans and family alike, but it finally ended because of Lauren’s addiction issues. Fans expressed their shock at the scandalous hookup in a recent Reddit discussion. One user said, “One thing about eastendersssss, everybody’s slept with everybody!” according to the Daily Star.
“Eastenders enjoys its messy cheating storylines,” a fan of the show commented. Trying to determine which is worse: Lauren having a romantic relationship with her best friend’s boyfriend, Lauren sleeping with her cousin, or Lauren perhaps having a romantic relationship with Junior (ideally not!).
