Because to Ian Beale’s (Adam Woodyatt) suspicious behavior, viewers of EastEnders are certain that Jane Beale (Laurie Brett) is going to return to Walford.
Spoilers ahead for the Wednesday, July 10th episode, which you can watch right now on BBC iPlayer, are included in this article.
Fans of EastEnders are predicting that Jane Beale (played by Laurie Brett) may be making a comeback to Walford in the near future due to strange behavior displayed by her ex-husband Ian (Adam Woodyatt).
Ian and Jane were married from 2007 to 2011, then again in 2015, and they left the Square in 2017 at Max Branning’s (Jake Wood) request. Despite this, Jane always thought of Bobby Beale as her own child.
Having joined the BBC soap in 2004, she was one of Ian’s many spouses and a pivotal character. But when it became known that she was involved in the mystery surrounding Lucy Beale’s (Hetti Bywater) death, her reputation took a hit.
Bobby, Ian’s kid, had looked up to Jane as a mother figure. When Bobby killed his sister by hitting her on the head with a jewelry box, Jane moved Lucy’s body to the woods so he wouldn’t have to deal with the consequences.
When the truth surfaced, Jane departed Walford after Max was nearly incarcerated for being accused of murdering Lucy. Although she hasn’t been seen since 2017, fans are convinced she is on the brink of making a comeback due to Ian’s mysterious behaviour.
As Bobby Beale (Clay Milner-Russell) prepares to mark his 21st birthday, he notes that not all his family members are keen on celebrating as he hints at Cindy Beale’s (Michelle Collins) animosity towards him. EastEnders followers will be aware that Bobby is scheduled to leave Walford this year.
In Wednesday’s episode of The Square, Ian is seen stepping out of his house to take a covert phone call. “Listen, I told you, I call you, not you call me”, he says to the unknown caller.
Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) and Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman), inquiring as to the businessman’s problems, interrupt his talk.
Then, while browsing the market, Ian is seen absorbed in his phone. He is stopped by Anna Knight (Molly Rainford), who suggests that in two weeks, they throw Bobby, her boyfriend, a surprise party at The Vic.
Ian shoots back, saying, “Bobby is like me, he doesn’t like surprises,” as he dismisses the notion flatly.
Some fans think Ian is speaking with Jane Beale because the most recent EastEnders spoilers suggest he is keeping something from his family.
“I have a really good feeling this “mystery lady” Ian is speaking to is Jane, manifesting a Jane return!! #EastEnders,” one user wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). (sic)
Someone else thought: “Jane Beale returns for a brief stint then leaves and takes Bobby with her #EastEnders.”
“Jane Beale looms and I can’t wait!” said a third. #EastEnders.
“Jane, let it be JANE!! #EastEnders”, one fan exclaimed. “I know it’s not going to be but I would love this to be a Jane return #EastEnders”, another added.
