Fans of EastEnders believe that long-suffering Reiss Colwell will eventually break, and they know precisely who will be his target.
Fans of EastEnders, who think they’ve “figured out” who Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman) would target next, are certain that the character’s breaking point is quickly approaching.
The character, played by Jonny Freeman, debuted on the soap opera in 2022. Reiss made a name for himself in Walford quickly after being introduced as the great-nephew of Dot Branning (portrayed by the late June Brown).
He started dating Sonia Fowler, the iconic Walford woman (Natalie Cassidy). Reiss’s infertility was one among the obstacles that prevented the couple from realizing their goal of becoming parents.
Last year, fans were informed of a heartbreaking plot surprise that revealed Reiss’ husband was receiving long-term hospital care while in a coma. Eventually, despite their difficulties, Sonia and Reiss started IVF, with Sonia having treatment.
Sonia had no idea that Reiss had pilfered money from Debbie’s account to finance their IVF procedure. The Daily Star claims that after initially celebrating Sonia’s apparent pregnancy, the couple was devastated to learn she wasn’t actually carrying a child.
They’ve resumed their IVF journey undeterred, but this week Reiss suffered a financial setback.
The accountant Reiss was presented with a £18,000 bill for his unconscious wife Debbie’s continuous hospital bills. However, good fortune seemed to be on his side when Letitia Dean’s character, Sharon Watts, asked him to handle her accounts, providing him with a lifeline.
Reiss, however, betrayed his integrity by embezzling money into his own account. He later experienced shame when Sharon gave him a bonus out of the blue.
Given the increasing mendacity and Debbie’s mounting medical costs, soap opera viewers are certain that Reiss is headed into darkness, to the point that there are rumors that he could finish up as the program’s “next serial killer.”
On Twitter, a viewer said, “I think Reiss can kill.” Deep down, he harbors a serial killer who is aching to be let go.”
“Reckon Reiss is going to murder Debbie to save on care home fees and get all her money,” said one commenter.
Fans, however, are conjecturing that Sharon may be the target of Reiss’s wrath. One tweeted, “You know something if they do a reveal that Reiss is pushed to breaking point and kills Sharon….”
With remarks like “Reiss is trying to scam Sharon.. this won’t end well.” and cautions like “Oh bl***y Hell, stay away from Sharon,” more people weighed in on Reiss’s cunning.
