EastEnders’ Wednesday episode, which is being streamed on BBC iPlayer, has spoilers in this article.
As it happens, Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington), a newcomer to EastEnders, has ties to Walford that go beyond her ex-husband Teddy Mitchell (Roland Manookian) and their boys.
Following an affair twist that was disclosed on Wednesday’s episode, the BBC soap opera also revealed that she had a past with an unexpected inhabitant.
When Nicola cornered Teddy at Peggy’s and found out he was purchasing the nightclub, fans witnessed her make Teddy’s life difficult.
However, when employee Zack Hudson (played by James Fararr) stopped by while she was there, she ran into a familiar face, and the two exchanged a knowing glance.
It was discovered that they had previously had an affair when Zack was working as a personal trainer and she was still married to Teddy when they subsequently ran into each other on the Square.
“Since you tried it, my core hasn’t been the same,” Nicola cheekily informed him.
Then, because she didn’t want Teddy and his kids Harry (Elijah Holloway) and Barney (Lewis Bridgeman) to know, she begged him to do her a favor and keep their tryst a secret.
Teddy then flirted with Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), as Nicola observed from across the Square.
Earlier in the episode, Nicola and Sharon seemed to loathe one other right away, which led to a heated argument at Peggy’s.
“I had known a woman named Sharon who operated an escort service out of her tanning parlor,” Nicola remarked.

Sharon said, “I’ve known a few Nicolas.” “It’s a pretty common name.”
“That’s Phil’s mother, the greatest Mitchell matriarch who’ll ever exist, just so you know,” Sharon pointed out to her, pointing to the photo of Peggy Mitchell (Barbara Windsor) that was displayed on the club’s wall.
How will Nicola respond to learning that Zack is Sharon’s brother now that a new conflict has been unlocked?
