Thursday night’s episode of EastEnders was filled with drama as The Six finally revealed the truth.
Holiday-loving soap opera fans will recall that The Six—Denise Fox as Diane Parish, Stacey Slater as Lacy Turner, Suki Panesar as Balvinder Sopal, Linda Carter as Kellie Bright, Sharon Watts as Letitia Dean, and Kathy Beale as Gillian Taylforth—joined forces to hide a homicide.
Suki’s abusive spouse Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) tried to prevent her from leaving him for her lover Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) by becoming violent. The Six intervened, with Denise hitting him over the head with a Champagne bottle.
Believing he was dead, they were shocked when he was revived. However, in the midst of the chaos, Sharon’s rejected fiance Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) arrived and tried to take her son, Albie, even attempting to strangle Sharon but Linda stabbed him. The Six all united to cover up the murder and pinned it on the vile rapist Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo), reports the Mirror.
However, this week saw Dean’s trial unfold, with Sharon temporarily jailed for contempt of court following a heated outburst during the proceedings. Meanwhile, Linda attempted to confess to the police, but they dismissed her claims, highlighting inconsistencies in her story and accusing her of being under the influence.
Despite the police’s dismissive attitude, Linda chose to reveal the truth to Keanu’s sister Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris), where the rest of The Six, excluding Sharon who was incarcerated, admitted their roles in concealing the murder. It’s yet to be seen how a distraught Bernie will react to this revelation, as she was shown dialling her mother Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) but was unable to share the distressing news she had just discovered.
On Thursday night, amidst the dramatic scenes, Linda actress Kellie Bright took to Instagram to post a playful picture of herself with her co-stars from The Six, minus Sharon actress Letitia. Kellie wrote: “Teaching #thesix how to crochet a very special Granny Square for one of the blankets that will include ALL 6 colours! ! Very grateful to all my ladies. @laceyturner @officialdianeparish @leesopal and Gilly T and Tish Dean #crochetforkidscancer @skc365.”
In the photo, Kellie is seen alongside Diane, Lacey, Balvinder, and Gillian, all holding crochet hooks and coloured balls of yarn that correspond with their Christmas Day soap character costumes. Fans were quick to respond to the post, with one saying: “All of you were absolutely phenomenal in this weeks episodes. You smashed it out of the park, Kellie. All you ladies are queens.”
One fan gushed: “One picture 5 icons minus one absolutely loving the six story at the moment watched today’s episode it was fantastic can’t wait to see what happens next” and another chimed in with equal excitement: “LOVE YOU AND THIS SO MUCH! ! ! ! ! ! YOUR ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE KEL! ! ! ! IM SO PROUD OF YOU.”
