Sylvia, our mother, passed away quietly this morning. She provided us happiness and laughter all the way to the end of her incredible life. We were reminiscing about all of our travels together just yesterday. We shall miss her terribly.

For her performance with Julie Andrews in The Tamarind Seed, the actress received a BAFTA nomination. In 2007, she even received an MBE at Buckingham Palace.

Her most well-known performances were in Holby City, Doctor Who, Casualty, and Doctors on the BBC. In 2019, Slyvia had her last appearance in Gentleman Jack, a historical drama on the BBC.

She was evacuated during World War II, among other early hardships, after being born in London in 1934, according to MailOnline. She once shared her evacuation experience, saying:

Parents had to wave from a distance as I was sent away since they were unable to appear on the station platform to say farewell. It was rather terrible.
