According to EastEnders rumors, Tommy Moon will find out Alfie has cancer next week and he’ll take it out on his stepfather Phil Mitchell.
Alfie Moon from EastEnders (Shane Richie) continues to keep his prostate cancer diagnosis a secret from those closest to him.
However, as BBC spoilers for the programs airing the next week demonstrate, it is getting more and more difficult.
While only a small group of people, including his children and ex-wife Kat Mitchell (Jessie Wallace), Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), and Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), are aware of what he is going through, this belief is shared by the majority of people in Albert Square.
However, he anticipates Alfie to be present when his son Tommy (Sonny Kendall) competes in his first boxing contest the following week.
Phil assures him that he will be there as he worries about Alfie’s possible absence.
He leaves the hospital where Alfie is recovering from his prostatectomy in an effort to fulfill his pledge to the boy and heads to The Boxing Den with Alfie.
Sadly, Alfie is still having trouble recovering from the surgery, is in poor health, and says he can’t go to the fight, telling Phil he needs to rest up in Spain.
This puts the Walford tough guy in a difficult situation since he knows he will have to explain to the child why Alfie is unable to attend.
While trying to decide how to tell the news to Kat, he confides in her, but unbeknownst to the two of them, Tommy overhears.
Tommy, who is enraged and hurt after learning that they have been lying to him, attacks Phil and labels him a liar.
Last month, viewers witnessed Alfie receive his tragic diagnosis in a plot that saw the BBC soap opera team up with Prostate Cancer UK and Macmillan Cancer Support.
“When we first embarked on this storyline, we knew it was essential that we collaborated with Prostate Cancer UK and Macmillan Cancer Support to take on and accurately portray such an emotional and pivotal storyline for Alfie, and one that many viewers may relate to,” said executive producer Chris Clenshaw.
With grace and empathy, Shane thoughtfully captured the facts of receiving a prostate cancer diagnosis.
We hope that the audience may relate to this plot and that we have accurately and sympathetically portrayed it.
