Fans of Emmerdale think they have solved the mystery surrounding Stephanie, the daughter of Caleb Milligan, who was first mentioned this week.
In a hospital altercation with Ruby’s mother Helen Fox (Sharon Maughan), Caleb (played by Will Ash) disclosed that he and his wife Ruby Fox-Milligan (portrayed by Beth Cordingly) have a daughter named Stephanie.
While ITV soap viewers have been introduced to the couple’s son Nicky Miligan (Lewis Cope), Stephanie has never appeared on screen and has scarcely been mentioned, save for one previous conversation where Caleb alluded to having more than one child.
This week, Helen was depicted inquiring about her granddaughter Stephanie, questioning whether Caleb is currently involved in her life. He reacted defensively, indicating that he and Ruby are not presently part of her life but where is she and what has happened to her?
Fans now believe they have ‘solved’ the mystery of Stephanie’s whereabouts and fate, with some speculating that she will soon make her first appearance in the village. One fan even suggested online that she might arrive during the festive season.
Speculation is rife among fans over the age of Stephanie and her relationship to Nicky, with theories suggesting she might have been placed for adoption. One theory shared online poses: “So Helen and Caleb referred to Ruby being disowned when she got pregnant by Caleb – seems reasonable to assume Stephanie is therefore the baby born circa 1996 and either never mentioned cos they have all fallen out or maybe she had to be adopted – in which case we’re looking for a girl about 28 years old who maybe isn’t called Stephanie anymore?”
Another fan echoed this sentiment, suggesting: “Maybe they was really young when they had her and was forced to adoption as Ruby’s parents refused to help.” Meanwhile, another viewer threw in a different theory entirely, postulating if Stephanie was currently incarcerated alongside notorious serial killer Meena Sharma (Paige Sandhu): “So Stephanie… #Emmerdale. In prison with Meena?”
With the imminent return of the show’s infamous rogue Ross Barton (Michael Parr), conjecture has turned towards his connections upon his comeback.
A speculation emerged on an Emmerdale fan page on Facebook questioning: “So Stephanie has been mentioned by Caleb…what if Stephanie turns up and is partnered with Ross Barton? ” A fellow fan didn’t hesitate to join in, asserting: “I said the same last night, bet you Ross will know her.”
Another fan chimed in, speculating: “I’ve just said i wonder if Ross will come back with Caleb and Ruby’s daughter and there will be some big twist in it all.” Sharing similar thoughts, another viewer agreed: “Yes Ross will know this Stephanie for sure.” Meanwhile, a fifth fan predicted, “Caleb’s daughter and Ross will be a couple.” Fans will have to wait and see if Stephanie will turn up to the village.
