Following Rhona Goskirk’s treachery, Marlon Dingle of Emmerdale and her husband have been having marital problems for several months.

After he and Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) got into a heated argument once more on Wednesday, Emmerdale appeared to announce Marlon Dingle’s (Mark Charnock) departure.

When Rhona dropped a bombshell during her court struggle with her ex-husband Gus Malcolms (Alan McKenna) earlier this year, Marlon was left stunned.

Once she was “unable to lie for him” after months of torture, Rhona turned on her former husband in court, taking both men by surprise. Her significant evidence probably had an impact on his severe sentence, which included an eight-year prison term and being escorted out of the country by police.

The villagers were shocked by Rhona’s harsh disclosure, which also seriously disrupted her marriage to Marlon. Gus might have received a lighter sentence if Rhona had agreed to provide a victim impact statement before to the court hearings, especially since he had previously completed the paperwork allowing them to see their infant daughter, Ivy.

The charges against Gus arose from his usage, without Rhona’s consent, of frozen embryos that belonged to them both from their previous marriage years before. She believed they had been thrown out decades earlier, and she was strongly against Gus using them when he told his new wife Lucy about his plans.

But he fraudulently used Rhona’s signature, and tragically, Lucy died giving birth to Ivy.

Since then, Rhona has been excited to raise her own daughter; nevertheless, Rhona had to take Ivy with her when Gus tried to flee to France without telling her.

Their altercation over Ivy resulted in Gus receiving an eight-year prison sentence for fraud and Rhona being accused with kidnapping before she was ultimately found not guilty.

Rhona’s court treachery has been difficult for Marlon to handle, and during their heated confrontation last month, Rhona allegedly called it quits on their marriage in front of their friends. They have since made an effort to work through their problems, even going to couples counseling, but on Wednesday, things didn’t seem to be improving.

Rhona was frustrated by Marlon’s unwillingness to let go of their past, and when she brought up the possibility of Ivy’s baptism with clergyman Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin), Marlon became infuriated at being left out of yet another momentous choice.

Rhona tried to explain the problem to Marlon, but he was furious and tossed a pan of food on the ground.

Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) went Marlon camping in an effort to cheer him up. But before he left, Marlon gave Rhona a shocking revelation.

“I can’t be under the same roof as you so I’m going camping with my mate because I need a break,” Marlon said, shocking his divorced wife. Rhona was completely shocked to hear, “Let’s think this through, me and you can actually work because I’m really not sure anymore.”

Fans are left wondering if this is the end of the road for them or if there’s a hope for reconciliation as their relationship hangs in the balance.
