After the first murder in a series of terrifying incidents by local villain Tom King, viewers of Emmerdale were left perplexed by a major oversight.

Fans were outraged when the disgusting veterinarian, played by James Chase, killed Piper, Belle Dingle’s (Eden Taylor-Draper) cherished puppy, on Friday, August 16, during an ITV soap opera.

Viewers are aware that Belle has been making a lot of effort to escape his dominance and leave their abusive marriage, but he is unwavering in his pursuit of her, pretending to be the victim in the village while surreptitiously monitoring her every step with covert cameras and trackers.

She urged him to leave her alone and leave in front of her frightened family when he showed up at her brother Sam Dingle’s (James Hotton) birthday party last week.

After leaving The Woolpack in a rage, Tom went to the Dingle house, where he saw Piper on the lane. Rather than pulling over to assist the fleeing dog, he ran her over.

Then, after carrying the hurt dog back to the hamlet, he watched for Belle’s departure from the celebration before scurrying over and announcing that he had just discovered Piper.

The dog needed to be put to sleep, and Tom told Piper as much when he brought Belle in for the dog’s surgery on Monday, August 19, with help from Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry). After saying her goodbyes, she stormed out of the room, unable to endure witnessing Tom give the fatal injection.

Tom made an effort to comfort Belle by telling her that Piper was happy and pain-free. But when he attempted to control her, he went too far, according to the Daily Star.

When Belle discovered that Tom was the reason for Piper’s demise, she confronted him and revealed to Rhona that he had abused the dog while they were staying at a cottage in Wales.

While Belle struggled to contain her anger at what Tom had done to Piper, viewers noticed a crucial mistake concerning the vicious dog attack. Using social media, one Emmerdale fan questioned how the neighboring CCTV could have missed him running over the puppy.

They posted: “Seeing as Wishing Well Cottage is next door to Eric’s house, could his doorbell camera have captured Tom’s most vile and cruellest act? Another chimed in: “Certainly hope so, although a horrible experience for Eric and Brenda if they check the footage. “Another viewer commented: “What a good thought.”

After watching the “distressing” scenes, some fans even threatened to lodge a formal complaint with broadcasting regulators Ofcom about the controvesial storyline.
