In a recent Emmerdale spoiler video, Kevin Mathurin’s character Charles Anderson is incensed after receiving some startling news.

As he answers a phone call, the vicar is obviously upset, and it soon becomes apparent why.

Charles tells Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) that the hit-and-run suspect may never be brought to justice because the police have decided to abandon the case involving his son Ethan.

Charles clarified that the police had no motive to pursue the inquiry because Ethan had not been killed in the hit-and-run.

Watchers will recall that after Ethan left him for dead, a mysterious attacker ran over him. This attacker’s identity was eventually disclosed by Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly), who was seeking revenge against her son Nicky Miligan (Lewis Cope).

When word spread of Ethan’s death, she was completely saddened, horrified that she was at fault, and ready to turn herself in to the authorities.

She was halted in her tracks, nevertheless, by her husband Caleb Miligan (Will Ash), who revealed that Ethan had actually had an aneurysm rather than being killed in the hit-and-run.

In the latest video, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) notes that an inebriated Charles probably doesn’t want to go back to a house that reminds him of his kid. Caleb overhears Charles’ tirade and later offers him a place to stay.

Although Charles is appreciative of the hospitality, the situation takes a strange turn when, while mopping up coffee spills on the carpeting, he discovers and pockets an interesting invoice.

Later on, Charles offers Caleb a ride into Hotten, which he grudgingly accepts. However, he becomes worried when Charles breaks down in tears during a heart-to-heart, and they drive into the woods.

Charles wonders why the police decided to dismiss the hit-and-run case as he thinks back on Ethan, but Caleb is perplexed when the vicar becomes stern in an attempt to console him.

When Caleb tries to get back in the car, a furious Charles stops him and takes out the invoice, which seems to implicate Caleb with the hit-and-run.

What will Caleb say when he sees Charles’ wrath and resolve to uncover the truth?
