Emmerdale were left devastated after abusive Tom King appeared to kill Piper in devastating scenes however the dog is still alive and kicking

Emmerdale has confirmed Belle Dingle’s beloved dog Piper is still alive after her abusive husband Tom told her she was dead.

During Wednesday’s trip to the Dales (August 21), Tom King (played by James Chase) was seen handing over the family’s dog, Piper, to a couple who appeared to be rescuing the animal.

The new owners are completely unaware that the dog is being taken from Belle (Eden Taylor Draper). But as Tom’s manipulation of his wife Belle continues, she remains unaware that her beloved Piper is still alive.

In a desperate attempt to regain control over Belle, Tom has used Piper in his latest twisted scheme.

In Monday’s episode (August 19), it seemed that Piper’s fate had been sealed after Tom and Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) worked tirelessly through the night to save the dog after she was hit by a car.

Belle hurried to the vet to be with Piper, but Tom took pleasure in informing her that their dog wouldn’t survive.

In a heart-wrenching scene, Belle said an emotional farewell to Piper while Tom prepared a lethal injection.

Belle exited the room and waited outside as Tom administered the fatal dose to Piper. The next day, they even held a funeral for Piper leaving Belle heartbroken.

However, Belle is now suspicious that her husband may have been responsible for Piper’s “accident”.

In a dramatic showdown, Tom chillingly issued threats to Belle and even tried to convince her that his abuse was all in her head.

But Belle has mustered the courage to stand up to Tom. She has gone to the police and applied for disclosure under Clare’s Law, to determine if Tom King has any history of domestic abuse.
