Emmerdale’s Will has been tormented by a blackmailer ever since he slept with ex Rose – and fans are convinced that they now know who is behind the threats.
Emmerdale has appeared to drop a major bombshell, ‘revealing’ the identity of Will Taylor’s blackmailer – and it’s someone viewers totally didn’t see coming.
Soap aficionados will remember Will (played by Dean Andrews) has been receiving threatening messages ever since he had a scandalous fling with his ex, Rose (portrayed by Christine Tremarco). The drama unfolded after Rose arrived in Emmerdale earlier this year, supposedly eager to reconnect with her loved ones, including her daughter Dawn (Olivia Bromley).
The plot thickened as Rose joined forces with Ruby (Beth Cordingly), aiming to bring down the formidable Kim (Claire King). It wasn’t long before Kim sniffed out Rose’s vendetta and banished her from the village.
But in a chilling twist, the plot took an even more dramatic turn as Rose vanished into thin air, leaving both Kim and Will to fret over whether one of them might have killed her. The shocking revelation soon came to light that Rose was very much alive, leaving Dawn incensed upon discovering Will’s web of deceit.
Consequently, she and Billy (Jay Kontzle) decided to up sticks and abandon Home Farm, reports the Manchester Evening News. However, troubles continue to brew for Will as of late. He has been plagued with ominous threats, initially starting with an enigmatic bunch of flowers bearing a note declaring: “I know what you did.”
As the tension ratchets up, last week saw the anonymous tormentor’s demands escalate, now commanding money with the menacing ultimatum that Will’s illicit tryst with Rose would be exposed if he didn’t cough up.
Emmerdale fans are convinced they’ve cracked the identity of Will’s blackmailer after spoilers for next week’s episodes. In a dramatic turn, Will is left reeling as his anonymous tormentor ups their demand to a staggering £50,000.
At the same time, Dawn stumbles upon a hidden hoard of cash belonging to Billy, which she was completely unaware of. Despite confronting him, Billy manages to soothe her suspicions by claiming he was squirrelling away funds for a surprise.
However, the plot thickens when it becomes apparent that Billy hasn’t been truthful. He’s seen making a secretive phone call, requesting more work from an unknown contact.
This has led viewers to speculate that Billy is the one pulling the strings behind Will’s blackmail. Discussions on an Emmerdale Facebook fan group have been rife with theories about Billy’s involvement. One fan expressed disappointment: “Oh dear, he’s the blackmailer, what a shame had turned into a nice guy! ” Another concurred, simply stating: “Will’s blackmailer.”
A third added: “He might be the blackmailer on Will.” The revelations continued with another fan expressing shock: “Aahh so it’s Billy who’s the blackmailer! I didn’t see that coming. They will need the money for the rent once it’s run out after 4 months upfront payments.”
Another viewer suggested a twist: “They made it too obvious to be Kim. If it is Billy I never suspected him but it’s more believable now for him to be involved.” Finally, another fan declared confidently: “Yes think he might be the one blackmailing will.”
