Tom King (James Chase) despises Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor Draper) for showing herself to be a bold, astute, and daring young lady. He discovers a whole new method to scare and injure her in Emmerdale now that she has shown him that it doesn’t matter what he does and that he can’t take control back.
When Daisy Campbell’s character, Amelia, in Emmerdale, oddly stood up for Tom after Belle had treated him cruelly at the Woolpack, it was a small hint of what was to come for Tom. We wondered why on Earth she would support him. since he was already holding her with his claws.
Unbeknownst to Amelia, she was supporting an abuser, who’s about to become her boyfriend.
Before this news hits her ears, Belle first gets some seriously bad news – she learns by email that her application for a Clare’s Law disclosure – whereby she applied to the police to find out if Tom had ever been abusive before – has been denied.
Worse still is that she realises Tom knows about her application when he drops hints that he has seen the email – thanks to him hacking her laptop – and lets her know that he has intimate images of her that he’s willing to release.
She’s mortified to realise her password to her photos has been changed and Tom has one-upped her again.
But she’s ready to fight fire with fire and steals his iPad, with a plan to confront him herself.
Tom is not done with his revenge plan however, and Belle is horrified when Amelia lets slip that she and Tom have started seeing each other. This. Is. Huge. And disgusting.
Amelia is just 16, making this one of Tom’s most twisted acts yet. But rather than be jealous or possessive as Tom had hoped, Belle is terrified – terrified of what danger Amelia has got herself into.
Amelia has absolutely no idea what he’s really like and when Tom once again lets himself into Belle’s house with his secret key, she gives him both barrels – leave Amelia alone, or else.
But her interaction with Tom is so vicious it leaves her in a trance-like state as she leaves the house and wanders down Main Street – the perfect opportunity for Tom to make his next horrific move.
