On Wednesday’s episode of Loose Women, James Hooton and Sam Hall—who portray Sam and Samson Dingle, a father and son duo in Emmerdale—discussed their most recent plot.

Not everyone was astounded by James’ authentic accent, though, as Colleen was. Twitter viewers were taken aback by his flawless pronunciation, with one tweeting: “Funny seeing Sam out of character #LooseWomen!” with another writing: “Damn – Sam’s posh in real life #loosewomen.”

When asked about his future on the soap opera, Sam, an actor who costarred with James, spoke with brevity in a recent interview. This comes after earlier this year, according to the Mirror, claims indicating that 20-year-old Sam had been fired from the hit ITV series following a 15-year run.

Sam, who has remained silent about his ongoing stories, promised fans in May that his character would not die, even though no formal exit has been revealed.

In the Loose Women episode airing on Wednesday, actors Sam and James were the focus of questions regarding their roles in the serial opera.

As Mariella Frostrup, a guest panelist, questioned Sam, “Do you reckon you’ve got another 15 years in you Sam?” He said succinctly, “I hope so!” Similarly, when asked the same subject, James—who has been playing Sam Dingle for almost thirty years—replied amiably, saying, “I’ll try my best, as long as they’ll have me, I’ll stay there!”
