Fans of Emmerdale will witness Tom King and Belle Dingle pull up to a secluded vacation home in Wales, which was really filmed on the village set of Emmerdale.

Fans of the hit ITV soap opera Emmerdale are in for a treat as future episodes feature Tom King and Belle Dingle, portrayed by Eden Taylor Draper, traveling to Wales.

In the special flashback episode airing tonight, Wednesday, July 24, Belle will be physically separated from her loved ones by Tom as he continues to use coercive control over her. Belle will be taken to a remote vacation house in Wales.

However, it has been disclosed that the scenes at the cottage were actually shot on the Emmerdale village set. Jeff Hordley, who portrays Cain Dingle, revealed at a recent Emmerdale event: “It’s at the top of the village. It’s the new building that’s meant to be Moira and Cain’s house. The crew did a great job.”

Despite filming in Yorkshire, the Emmerdale design and construction team managed to create the illusion of a holiday cottage. Gillian Slight, Head of Design, explained: “The location is actually part of Emmerdale’s village complex, it’s on the outskirts and hasn’t really been seen by the viewers so it’s believable that it’s a property 300 miles away from the Yorkshire Dales.”

She added: “We have total access and control over the building, so we were free to decorate and furnish the interior and exterior. The garden was basically a pile of builders rubble, so landscaping and planting was necessary, to make it look pretty. The whole job took about 4 weeks to complete.”

In Tuesday’s episode (July 23), viewers saw Cain and Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) arrive at a vandalised holiday cottage in Wales, with blood on the wall and Belle nowhere to be found.

The forthcoming flashback episode will depict Tom and Belle’s joyous arrival at the secluded cottage. However, when Belle overhears her husband planning to prolong their stay, flashbacks reveal the full extent of their week, including scenes that expose Tom’s physical and emotional dominance over Belle and their dog Piper.

Belle realises she is completely isolated from everyone she cares about, with little hope of escape. Despite her constant efforts to please him, Tom blames all their problems on her, signifying a significant shift in power dynamics.

The question remains: can Belle King break free from her manipulative husband? Speaking recently to press, Laura Shaw said: “We said right from the beginning we wanted to tell the story as truthfully and authentically as we can. This isn’t something that is over in a couple of weeks, it goes on for a long length of time. Viewers can expect the storyline to run until the end of this year.”
