Teenager Cathy Hope from Emmerdale made a decision on Wednesday night that changed her entire life, breaking her father Bob Hope’s heart.
As a result of Gabrielle Dowling’s recent medical diagnosis, Cathy Hope (played by Emmerdale’s Cathy Hope) has been pleading with the soap’s producers to “get rid” of her.
On Wednesday night’s ITV episode, Cathy at last received some clarification on her frequent mood swings.
Doctors informed the adolescent that she had Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), despite her doubts.
The diagnosis left Cathy and her father Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) in shock, but they were relieved to finally have answers.
The schoolgirl’s life-altering decision regarding her diagnosis, however, left her father speechless.
She added that after researching her condition, she decided to have a hysterectomy, which would prevent her from ever having children of her own.
“I have been learning about PMDD for months,” Cathy said to Bob. “I like to read and watch videos. I could have a hysterectomy tomorrow to stop this.
He continued, “A hysterectomy, do you even know what that is?” as Bob watched in disbelief.
As she retaliated, Cathy became enraged and said, “Of course, I do, and it is not up for discussion.”
Cathy’s plot is starting to irritate some viewers, and many of them vented their complaints on Twitter.
“Whatever the diagnosis, don’t think there is a cure for Cathy,” wrote @joy9kat. Just a horrible and evil #Emmerdale birth.
