Emmerdale fans are convinced Moira Dingle is battling a secret health condition after she displayed a series of angry outbursts in recent episodes.
Emmerdale’s Moira Dingle, played by Natalie J. Robb, has raised eyebrows among fans who suspect she may be hiding a secret health issue following her recent erratic behaviour. This comes after her son Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) was unjustly imprisoned due to Samson (Sam Hall), leading to tension with her husband Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley).
However, this week saw Moira unable to conceal her pleasure when Samson was arrested for assaulting Jacob Cope (Osian Morgan).
As the teenager’s parents Sam (James Hooton) and Lydia (Karen Blick) watched in horror as their son was led out of The Woolpack in handcuffs, Moira couldn’t help but smile.
This reaction aroused suspicion in Cain regarding his wife’s involvement in his nephew Samson’s arrest. Back at home, he confronted Moira about her response to the arrest, which she vehemently denied having any part in.
However, she soon lost control, sending a glass flying across the kitchen, reports the Manchester Evening News.
On Tuesday (August 7), Cain attempted to put their previous night’s argument behind them, but Moira only added fuel to the fire.
“They should throw away the key” she remarked about Samson’s prison sentence, accusing him of exacerbating the situation by trying to toughen Samson up for prison.
“So now this is all my fault?” Cain questioned, only to receive a sarcastic retort from Moira, who blamed him for turning Samson into “another thug which their family didn’t need”.
Wednesday’s episode saw Moira’s attitude hit a new low as she told her son Matty to “man up” amid his post-prison turmoil.
Fans witnessed Matty challenge his mother over her lack of empathy, marking another turbulent moment in their fraught relationship.
Speculation is rife among viewers that Moira could be contending with an undisclosed health issue causing her unpredictable outbursts.
A concerned viewer took to Twitter, questioning: “Moira’s been really horrible to Cain do you think she may have an illness?”.
Others concurred, with one stating: “Aww definitely, she went like this before”, and another adding: “Yep there’s definitely something strange going on.”
One particular fan theorised: “I think something is wrong like bipolar or something. It was the way she said ‘what’ when Cain said is it safe or are you going to throw a glass at me again, seemed like she had no recollection of it.”
