Ruby Fox-Miligan, played by Emmerdale great Beth Cordingly on the ITV soap opera, has been dating her co-star for three years.

The Emmerdale actress Beth Cordingly has opened up about her real-life love and co-star Ian Kelsey on social media with a heartfelt tribute. For the past three years, Beth—best known for her ITV soap opera character Ruby Fox-Miligan—has been dating Ian Kelsey, who is still warmly remembered as Dave Glover from his time on Emmerdale.

Over the years, Kelsey has graced our screens in various prominent roles, including appearances on BBC’s beloved Doctors, a powerful portrayal in 2020’s Wuthering Heights adaptation, and a memorable stint as Vinny Ashford in 33 episodes of Coronation Street during 2016-2017. Taking to Instagram, Beth shared a touching tribute that read: “I love you on tour. I love you at home. I love you away. I love you here. You are the stuff dreams are made of. Thank god I found you #StillCantBelieveYoureReal.”

She also candidly expressed, “(I know this is [sick emoji]. Soz, dudes. I shout this s**t from the rooftops nowadays and if it backfires on me SO BE IT, I won’t be ashamed. I had a good time on the way. I’m done with being quiet and careful. I don’t care. #LifeIsTooShort).”

Offering life advice, she concluded, “It’s taken me 47 years to get here. And some amazing people in my life with everyday a school day. Stay open. Own your mistakes. WE ALL MAKE THEM. I MAKE HUNDREDS EVERY DAY. Proper CRINGE ONES. So. LEARN. Life IS a marathon not a sprint. Seatbelt on. There will be time,”

The Ruby actress shared some heartfelt advice, saying: “Thought for the day: The good ones do exist. Keep your eyes open. And when you find them it’s terrifying, I KNOW. But be brave and reach out your hand and don’t let go. #TrustYouAreEnough #YouAreWorthy #LoveYourself please.”

In a direct message to her partner Ian, she expressed her affection with: “I love you. Thank you for being amazing.”

She paired these loving words with a screenshot of a FaceTime call, capturing a moment where Beth appeared to be in bed, possibly without clothes, while Ian was suited up on a train.

Beth has previously opened up about her relationship with Ian, noting that he completely understands her career demands which often require her to be away from home. She commented: “He knows a lot of the crew and cast and so it’s lovely to be able to share what I’ve been up to, knowing he understands.”

She added that their mutual support is crucial in their line of work, stating: “That’s important when you are away and he is always keen to find out how filming has gone each day. We are both very supportive of each other’s careers which is important when it is such a competitive industry.”
