As soon as the police say Craig has been released, it appears Sam Dingle may be getting ready to act on his own.
In upcoming scenes, viewers of Emmerdale may see James Hooton’s Sam Dingle exact revenge on his wife Lydia (Karen Blick).
ITV soap opera viewers recently watched in horror as Craig Reed, Lydia’s childhood friend, sexually assaulted Lydia.
The two began to become close again when Craig first moved to the community, but he took advantage of their friendship to sexually assault her.
She has kept what has happened to her a secret, but this week she plans to tell her family and friends—aside from Kim Tate (Claire King)—what has happened.
Official soap opera spoilers, however, indicate that her marriage to Sam may suffer as a result of the revelation of what happened.

Sam is disappointed when Lydia declines his invitation to spend the day together in a scene that will air the following week.
He feels helpless and lost and is afraid to touch his traumatized wife because she wants to stay inside to clean the house.
Later, after Lydia made the decision to report him for his crime, the police show up to give her an update on the situation.
Lydia tries to hide her dismay as Sam is enraged when the authorities say Craig has been released pending further investigation.

Sam asks Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry), who has dealt with a similar situation before, to speak with Lydia in an effort to assist his wife.
Sam overhears their conversation as Lydia confides in Rhona about how she is feeling at home. Sam is worried that seething Craig will get away with his actions without being held accountable.
Later in the week, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), who is obviously struggling as well, tries to support Sam.
Sam is left questioning his ability to bring Craig to justice with Cain in his ear, though.

Will viewers witness Sam retaliate against his wife on his own terms?
Karen Blick, an actress, warned Express.co.uk that her relationship might suffer as a result of Lydia telling her family and friends.
According to the soap opera star, Lydia is terrified that this could spell the end of her marriage to Sam, which is her entire world, and the Dingle family, which means a great deal to her.
She was raised in a foster home, alone, and in many ways estranged from her own family, so the Dingles are her entire world.
