Nothing is more disturbing than realizing your blackmailer isn’t actually you once you know exactly who they are, is there? In Emmerdale, Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) finds himself in a similar situation. To deal with this news, he’s going to need a change of shorts.
It’s now clear what exactly happened to Rose (Christine Tremarco), and it’s no coincidence that Will’s life started to fall apart at the same moment. Will’s ex is clearly responsible for everything.
He gives them a call and has the blackmailer’s (also known as Rose’s) number. However, he discovers a crucial clue following the call that totally clears Rose of any involvement in the crime.
He sees a video of her in Ibiza and realises it couldn’t have been her he called because the call didn’t connect with an international dialling tone.
Yikes, this throws Will through a loop. Time to pivot on those blackmailer theories. This fresh sense of the unknown has his guts tied up in knots, and both him and Jimmy are baffled over who it could be.
Will is even more worried what this mystery hater might do.
The final straw to stir him to action is when he receives an email to his work account containing porn images with his and Rose’s faces super imposed on. This is not good news.
Whoever it is knows he cheated on Kim (Claire King), and he is not about to let her find out. He resolves to ignore it, not the wisest of moves, as shortly afterwards he receives another deep fake video on his phone. This is no time for him to bury his head in the sand.
Will reveals the deep fake to Jimmy and confesses that whoever is behind the blackmail has demanded £10,000 for their silence. Things just got serious, and Will has no clue how to stop them.
He makes a huge decision and takes drastic action in the name of protecting his marriage, but it’ll come at a huge cost, far more than 10K.
How far will he go?
