In addition to playing the beloved character Will Taylor on the popular ITV soap opera Emmerdale since 2019, Dean Andrews has a notable role outside of the made-up TV hamlet.
Will Taylor from Emmerdale is currently a part of a dramatic blackmail plot on the popular ITV soap opera.
Will, portrayed by Dean Andrews, has been a part of multiple dramatic plots since entering the soap opera back in 2019. In recent scenes, Will has been subjected to blackmail by an unknown someone after the upheaval with his former partner, Rose Jackson. Will actor Dean, 61, had a stellar career before joining Emmerdale. A few of his notable parts include Last Tango in Halifax, Ashes to Ashes, and Life on Mars.
And it’s not just Emmerdale fans can catch Dean in as the actor has a surprise role away from the hit ITV soap. Taking to Instagram recently, Dean shared some sun-drenched snaps from his getaway to Italy with wife Helen. As fans gushed over the photos, one follower commented: “Are you the voice over on the 24 hours in A&E xx” to which Dean replied: “I am” with a thumbs up emoji.
Away from Emmerdale, Dean has been providing the voiceover for Channel 5’s Casualty 24/7, which launched in 2018 and is a documentary series filmed inside the casualty department of a hospital in Barnsley, South Yorkshire following the staff, volunteers and patients.
Meanwhile, over on Emmerdale, the drama is only going to continue for Will next week when his estranged wife Kim Tate is kidnapped amid the blackmail storyline. In scenes this week, the fire at Moira Dingle’s farm stops Will from dropping off the money to the blackmailer and next week sees the blackmailer up the stakes to £50K.
In a desperate bid, Will asks Caleb Milligan for a loan in return for his shares in the haulage business. Having secured Caleb’s loan, Will’s chipper as he makes big promises to Kim. However, his mood soon darkens when the blackmailer messages demanding payment. The next day, once Will has the £40K in cash from Caleb, he texts his blackmailer to let them know he has the cash.
Will then has the difficult task of breaking the news to Jimmy King, revealing his deal with Caleb and leaving Jimmy furious by his friend’s betrayal. Things then go from bad to worse when Will arrives back at Home Farm for lunch to find Kim missing.
In a distressing turn of events, Will then receives a call from his blackmailer telling him they’ve abducted her. Following his blackmailer’s instructions, Will arrives in a woodland area, eager to save his wife. However, Will is perplexed when he finds a mannequin dressed like Kim, goading him further into the woods… will Will and Kim be okay?
