Former Home and Away co-star Lynne McGranger was among the celebrities who responded to the star’s latest post.

From the hospital, Johnny Ruffo offered an update on his cancer.

The former Home and Away actor, who is battling stage 4 cancer, recently released a new photo while undergoing chemotherapy.

On Wednesday evening, his Instagram caption said, “Still kicking this thing’s a* #comeatme #f*cancer.”

The image of Ruffo relaxing in a recliner while receiving therapy appears to have been taken by his partner Tahnee Sims.

Sims can be seen nodding in agreement while Ruffo flashes two peace signs.

Friends and followers of Ruffo took to the comments to share their ongoing support.

“Go Johnny!!! I’m sorry you have to keep kicking its a***. You don’t deserve that. I wish it would just F off and leave you alone. Sending so much love xxxx,” former Home and Away star Sarah Roberts wrote.

“Hey my darling friend. You’re such a champion. Talk soon. Love you 🙏😍👍🏾💙💪🏽,” Ruffo’s longtime friend and former co-star Lynne McGranger said.

“Love you Johnny – keep fighting xx,” Sally Obermeder said.

Radio host Michael Wipfli said, “Go you good thing. We’re here with you brother”.

“If anyone can keep kicking its a*** it’s you buddy 💪 love you champion,” fellow former X-Factor contestant Jason Owen said.

Ruffo confirmed last year that his brain cancer diagnosis was terminal, but said he was committed to battling the disease as best he could and to living life to the fullest.

“I understand that the cancer is terminal, but you know, I’m going to do everything I can and I am currently doing everything I can to kick its a***,” he told 7Life last year.

“I feel like s***. I’m always fatigued, just walking up a set of stairs.

“By the time I get to the top I just want to have a sleep.”

Speaking last year about his goals, Ruffo said he planned to continue with music and auditioning for acting roles, as well as exploring presenting.

“Just everything that I was doing before,“ he said.

In reference to his 2017 diagnosis, he adds, “I felt like I was just kicking goals and I just couldn’t miss, and then all of a sudden the roof came crashing down.”

“Goddammit, I was thinking that. Everything suddenly came to a halt.

“And it was going so well; I felt like I was accomplishing everything I set out to do.

I kind of want to pick up where I left off since “everything was just going in the right direction for me.”
