The former Home and Away star surprised with a revelation as she shared the things about Australia that ‘everyone just gets’.
Tammin Sursok has revealed the “things in Australia that everyone just gets” as she let followers in on a significant plan for her family.
Usually located in the US, the former Home and Away star is currently visiting Sydney with her husband and children.
Sursok used TikTok to share some of the nicest aspects of living in Australia. She also revealed her family’s long-term goal of relocating half of their time to Australia.
No tipping, free museums and art galleries, a $200 fine for littering, driving on the left side of the road, and the absence of shootings are among the things that “everyone just gets” in Australia.
Sursok added that there is “amazing coffee at every cafe” and that “Starbucks isn’t a thing” in Australia.
Sean McEwen, Sursok’s husband, also mentioned that there are “charts to see if you’ve been bitten by a deadly spider” in Australia.
To clarify, Australians tip in a nice restaurant at about 10%, but tipping is not a culture, the actress added in response to her research.
“Consequently, you don’t tip for the majority of purchases. This is as a result of the high minimum wage in comparison to many other nations.
“There are 61 Starbucks locations in Australia. In contrast, there are 16,000 in the USA.
She then explained that throughout her entire time in Australia, she has never experienced a spider bite.
Australian-born commenters added more pros regarding daily living in Australia.
Free medical care, paid parental leave, the absence of gun violence towards my children, and Bakers Delight bread. Why I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else, wrote Lauren Dubois in a remark.
“I’m on vacation in the United States, which is nice, but wow, I adore my country. Being able to live in Australia is such a blessing. I’m enjoying my stay here, but I can’t wait to get home,” added another proud Australian.
I’m in the United States right now, but as much as I love to travel there, I can’t wait to return to our Australian habits and culture. The crossing sounds to walk at the traffic lights. one more said.
Sursok responded to a comment by adding the unexpected information that the family intends to divide their time “50/50” between the US and Australia.
A fan questioned the actress, “Do you ever think about moving back here so your kids don’t have to go to school in America?”
Sursok replied, “We are working on doing 50/50 xo,” in response.
The family “accidentally” returned to Australia from the US during the COVID outbreak while Sursok’s acting career was flourishing there.
The actress remarked, “We were always going to spend just as much time in Australia and America, but then COVID hit and we weren’t able to do that, and then it just sort of happened,” on The Morning Show in July 2022.
“I did a movie in Brisbane, and we kept staying and I kept being able to work here, so we’ve been almost a year, so it’s been an accidental sort of semi move to Australia.”
However, the family then relocated back to the US due to business obligations, and the kids started attending local schools.
