In Coronation Street, Summer Spellman’s (Harriet Bibby) dreams of a fresh romance were abruptly dashed when boyfriend Felix returned to the United States.
For the past few months, Summer has been gone from Weatherfield while she settles into her new life at a university in Boston, Massachusetts.
Summer was anxious to leave shortly after receiving this placement offer; she wanted to stay and take care of Paul (Peter Ash), who suffers from motor neurone illness.
As they chatted, Paul and Billy (Daniel Brocklebank) advised Summer to accept her university placement and go on with her life because Paul would be taken care of by other family members while she was away.
Summer waved goodbye to the cobbles, feeling reassured, but she’s back home now.
Summer and her new beau Felix, portrayed by Hollywood icon Robin Morrissey, arrived at the apartment last week.
The conversation abruptly became very unpleasant, and the mood turned icy as he took pleasure in the fact that Paul had motor neurone disease, a condition he had learned about in college.
The fact that Billy was much older than Paul and boasted about being a neuroscientist worried Paul and Billy as well.
Felix later heard Paul using his Eyegaze device to play a disparaging message about him.
Felix exits, leaving Summer embarrassed, while Billy and Todd (Gareth Pierce) search frantically for the mute button.
We found out that he had departed for America on Wednesday’s episode, and Summer questioned if she could handle being in a relationship that was so far away.
But does Summer’s relationship with Felix truly come to an end now?
Or would he be able to come back?
