Fans of Home and Away were thrilled to see Fitzy, Wippa, Kate Ritchie, and two of the show’s biggest actors reunited for Nova’s Backyard Cricket.

A wide range of well-known personalities attended the yearly charity match, including cricketer Brett Lee, tennis player Lleyton Hewitt, singer-songwriter Amy Shark, and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

But it was the return of longtime Home and Away star Ray Meagher to the field, when he joined Kate Ritchie’s squad, that made fans yearn for the much anticipated reunion of Alf Stewart and Sally Fletcher.

With a video captioned, “The man, the myth, the legend Ray Meagher gets a standing ovation from @kateritchieofficial and his team after getting some hefty runs in!,” Fitzy, Wippa, and Kate posted on Instagram.

Kate Ritchie also uploaded a happy snap of the pair, alongside Lleyton Hewitt, captioning the post:

“Where to begin my @fitzywippakate #backyardcricket dump? With these two old friends, cricket team recruits and national treasures.. 🏏🏠🇦🇺 Thanks for trusting me to be your skipper today 😉.”

Fans flocked to the comments, including the official Home and Away account leaving a bunch of crown emojis on the post.

“The king and queen of the bay!,” the Fitzy, Wippa and Kate account commented back.

“Always good to see Ray and Kate. Aussie Legends together again,” one person said.

“I wanna hear a flamin’ hell… catch the ball 😃,” another fan said, referencing one of Alf’s iconic quotes, with another one commenting, “Stone the flamin crows!”

As for the cricket, it was Team Fitzy that ended up taking the win from Team Kate, with 89 runs to Kate’s 69.
