“It was the biggest challenge for me.”
Star of the serial opera Home and Away Courtney Miller has spoken candidly about her decision to leave her position as Bella Nixon.
It was my decision to go, she stated in an interview with Stuff. I had undoubtedly completed my acting contract. In actuality, I remained for an additional three months. I did it joyfully but not without shed a lot of tears.
Everyone thought I was insane when I moved to Melbourne to pursue acting, she remarked.
“It was an ego reset and the hardest struggle I’ve ever faced. To show myself that I was in it for the long haul and not just for the fast buck, I wanted to take the acting class, she added.
“When I first arrived, I panicked a little because I felt like I wasn’t supposed to be there or that I’d made the wrong option, but by week two, I realized that I had made the right choice. It was the most firmly rooted experience of my life. It was amazing,” she continued.
As luck would have it, she returned to Home and Away for a little time to participate in Nikau’s leave storyline, which resulted in the happy ending for Nikau and Bella, for her first acting job after graduating from acting school.
Those scenes will air in the UK on Channel 5 in April.
“I truly thought that when I left, I was saying goodbye. My return was weird because my storyline was still going on without me. She was talked about. She did still exist in that world, even though I, Courtney, didn’t,” she said.
“I was very lucky to be called back. It worked out well because there was still a storyline there that needed to be completed. It was the best experience ever.”
