The death of iconic character Justin Morgan was hinted at in a recent promo for Home and Away, shocking fans.

When James Stewart’s character Justin and Ada Nicodemou’s character Leah Patterson were stranded in an abandoned warehouse after being kidnapped by the Vita Nova doomsday cult, a metal structure collapsed on Justin, sending him to the hospital.

The promo featured Leah sitting beside Justin in the hospital and being told to “prepare for the worst” before she was shown wearing a black dress and attending what appears to be a funeral.

“Is this the end for the Bay’s most loved couple?” a voice-over teases in the clip.

Actor James Stewart has opened up about what it was like to bring the dramatic plot to life, but viewers will have to wait and see if Justin emerges from his coma.

One of the most fulfilling storylines I’ve had to shoot for Home and Away has been this one after Justin and Leah are abducted. And it’s still ongoing,” he said to 7Life.

“Ada Nicodemou’s portrayal in this narrative is incredibly compelling and potent. The entire trip seemed to resemble a film shoot. It was really unique.

Can’t she ever be happy?’

Viewers have since weighed in on the upcoming storyline on social media, with one person writing: “They can’t be killing Justin off surely?!”

“Don’t you dare die Justin Morgan! Summer Bay needs you but most importantly Leah needs you,” another added.

“How many of Leah’s partners die? Can she just not be happy for once,” a third remarked, while someone else said, “Poor @adanicodemou aka Leah can’t she ever be happy?”.

Others asserted that James had been seen recording the show in recent weeks and predicted that the “funeral” was a dream scene.

One user posted, “Justin doesn’t die, he’s still filming on Home and Away, I saw on celeb time tour.”

Another user remarked, “Justin doesn’t die; he was recently spotted filming.” A different user responded, “Justin doesn’t die; he will make a fast recovery and get well soon, so Leah and him can start planning their wedding.”
