Lukas Radovich, a former Home and Away actor, recently revealed the tragic news of his father’s passing.

The 28-year-old, who portrayed Ryder Jackson in the Channel Seven soap from 2017 until 2022, posted a gallery of pictures with his father on Instagram on Tuesday.

He claimed to have lost his “Captain” as his family prepared to go for an anticipated vacation and reunion in Italy.

Words just cannot express the sadness we feel after saying goodbye to beloved Maximus yesterday, he said.

“So much loved and taken from us too soon. None of the tales of his heroics from yesterday surprised me. But each revealed something about his personality. Intelligent, humorous, independent, compassionate, daring, and loving. I still feel and always will feel that affection. It won’t ever fade away.

According to Lukas, his father left him “with a long list of rules for life” that he will continue to follow. He then shared three of those guidelines with his followers.

“Good wine should be shared, not kept for later. Stay enquisitive. Also, never ever wear thongs when flying, he said.

Sending you and your family love’

Lukas’ former Home and Away stars quickly took to the comments to share their condolences, including Sophie Dillman and Emily Weir.

“Beautiful pictures of your dad Lukas, and I love the three lessons. I’ll share some of that wine with you,” Georgie Parker wrote.

“Sending love and strength to you and your family Lukas,” Lynne McGranger added, while Ada Nicodemou replied, “Sending you and your family love”.

What a man he was, I say. Love those three guidelines; I’ll be following them as well. I’m sending you and your family so much love,” Megan Smart said.

Lukas made the decision to leave Home and Away in May of last year, and since then, he has made an appearance in the Sydney drama All His Beloved Children.
