Mackenzie Booth from Home and Away will experience rejection on UK television next week after she unexpectedly develops a romantic interest in Kahu Parata, a newcomer to Summer Bay.

Only a few months after learning that his cancer had returned, Mackenzie learned the heartbreaking news that her ex-partner Gabe Miller had passed away earlier this month. Mackenzie is now in mourning.

In forthcoming scenes to appear on Channel 5, Mac has been attempting to occupy herself since losing Gabe, and Tane’s recently arrived cousin Kahu proves to be the ideal diversion.

Mac decides to assist Kahu in creating a business strategy after growing fond of him and his unwavering optimism.

However, it soon became clear that Kahu’s plans went beyond business. Tane cautions Kahu to exercise caution because Mac is still grieving the loss of Gabe, but Kahu chooses to pursue a romantic relationship with her when Mac advises him to take a chance.

As tensions rise between Mac and Kahu, they skulk into Salt’s storage area.

Tane hunts for Kahu when the two are having a passionate afternoon together. Mac requests Kahu’s discretion, insisting that their relationship should be brief.

Mac lashes out at Mali, believing that he was the one who forcibly warned Kahu away from her. Following her outburst, Tane and Felicity are concerned for Mac, and Mali is incensed that Mac would publicly call him out for something he hasn’t even done.

Mac apologizes to Mali after realizing her error, and the friendship between the housemates is repaired.

Later, Tane and Felicity admit to Mac that they were the ones who contacted Kahu out of sincere concern for her welfare. Will Mac heed Felicity’s advice to take some time off work so that he may grieve properly?
