Emmerdale and EastEnders fans have been hit with another change of schedule as both soaps will not be airing this Tuesday, July 2, due to the Euro 2024 and Wimbledon.

This evening’s episodes of EastEnders and Emmerdale will not air because ITV and BBC One will be covering Wimbledon and the Euro 2024 tournament.

The 17th edition of the UEFA European Championship has significantly altered the TV landscape in recent weeks, leaving viewers of the popular shows—which both air at 7.30 p.m. on their respective channels—on tenterhooks. However, fans of the London-based drama and its ITV counterpart will have to wait until Tuesday, July 2, to get their fill, so the tension surrounding it is expected to persist.

The Beeb has canceled EastEnders in favor of Wimbledon 2024, which will kick off on BBC One at 7.45 p.m., while Emmerdale has been shelved in favor of the live coverage of Euro 2024 and Romania’s match versus Turkey at 8 p.m. Fortunately for fans of both shows, Wednesday, July 3rd, has a double feature of EastEnders on BBC Two from 7 to 8 p.m., one of which is already accessible on BBC iPlayer.

Additionally, Emmerdale and Coronation Street will return at their customary intervals of 7:30 and 8:00 p.m. In order to concentrate on the opening of the 137th Championship at Wimbledon, the BBC had already canceled EastEnders on Monday, July 1. Corrie and Emmerdale were carried on ITV much later.

The Manchester-based show’s viewers went into an online frenzy when they discovered they couldn’t see their beloved program until 9 p.m., despite Love Island airing a second, highly dramatic episode on ITV2, following Emmerdale at 8 p.m. For the remainder of the week, more adjustments are planned to keep supporters informed about the comings and goings in Weatherfield, the Dales, and Walford. Fans of EastEnders can look forward to a double bill on BBC Two on Thursday, July 4, from 7 to 8 p.m.

Additionally, Emmerdale will broadcast for its customary hour from 7.30 to 8 p.m. Unfortunately, fans will suffer yet another setback on Friday, July 5, as football continues to take precedence over the schedule and neither the Yorkshire-based drama nor Corrie will air. This occurs while Belle Dingle and her new husband Tom King are the subject of a heartbreaking plotline on Emmerdale that addresses the challenging and sneaky problem of coercive control.

Joel Deering’s reign of terror continues, and the cobbles are keen to know what actually happened to Lauren Bolton. Billy Mitchell over in Albert Square got the biggest surprise of his life when he found out he had a secret family.

The eagerly anticipated athletic event also affected other TV mainstays; the medical drama Casualty was paused mid-series on Storm Damage, while the BBC’s Repair Shop was canceled from its regular timeslot. However, the modifications are only going to be short-term because the Euro 2024 competition concludes on July 14.
