Tracy made an unexpected comeback to the popular ITV soap opera last month. Fans of the soap opera will remember that Kate Ford, the actress, left the cobbles when Tracy went to Spain to live with her lover Tommy Orpington. Fans thought actress Kate had abandoned the serial opera when Tracy chose to leave Weatherfield and go look for warmer climes with her new partner, leaving behind her friends and family, including Steve McDonald, with whom she had recently split.
However, Tracy made a surprise return to the cobbles last month but soon sparked suspicion she was hiding something and her real reason for returning was shrouded in mystery. In upcoming scenes, it appears the truth about Tracy Barlow’s return is finally revealed in a sad twist on the ITV soap. Spoilers for next week see Tracy play a message from Tommy to daughter Amy Barlow, where he begs her to come home and tells her how much he misses her. What will Amy advise and what exactly has Tommy done?
It comes as viewers are convinced Tracy has split from her boyfriend Tommy – and that is the reason why she’s returned so quickly. “Tracy is back. Back at the start of the year, actress Kate spoke out about her latest storyline, which saw her fall in love with Tommy and the pair embarked on an affair. Speaking about the storyline, she said: “I haven’t had a storyline as meaty as this for quite a long time.
“Me and Simon haven’t done any kissing scenes for about 10 years, so I was a bit nervous. There’s that initial thing of ‘oh, gosh, I’ve only known this person for five days, this is quite strange.’ Once you’ve done it then you feel OK but I’ve had to come out of my comfort zone a little.”
She explained: “It’s not easy turning on Tracy’s sexy side. I think that’s a lot less challenging to play in your 30s… I’m trying not to be too vampy with it because that would be a bit too much.”
