The Billy Mayhew star has shared an important message

Daniel Brocklebank of Coronation Street received support after sharing a crucial message.

The soap opera star gained notoriety for his Cobbles character, Billy Mayhew. Billy finds himself at the center of one of the most compelling plots on the show: Paul Foreman, Billy’s spouse, has been diagnosed with motor neurone disease.

Daniel finds the storyline especially poignant because his grandfather passed away from the illness. In honor of Global MND Awareness Day, Daniel, an MND association ambassador, has taken to Instagram.

“It’s important to highlight the role of the caregivers on Global MND Awareness Day as someone who has lost a family member to MND and now plays the role of a caregiver in our @coronationstreet storyline and as an ambassador for the @mndassoc,” he said.

“Taking care of oneself frequently comes in second when helping someone with motor neuron disease. It could seem insurmountable to consider eating healthily and getting enough sleep, let alone exercising, taking breaks, or going outside. Even though it can be challenging, you might need assistance at some point, and the MND Association is available to you.

For recommendations and direction regarding well-being, look up “MND Support for carers” online or give MND Connect a call at 0808 802 6262. You’re not by yourself.

Fans took to the comments to praise Daniel for raising awareness on the subject. Beckie said: “Amazing post.”

Daniel added: “This is such an amazing post.” Sally, Nicky and Paul shared a series of heart emojis.
