Emmerdale’s Matty Barton is currently struggling in prison after he was wrongly arrested for stabbing Samson Dingle.

In forthcoming scenes on Emmerdale, Ash Palmisciano’s character, Matty Barton, continues to struggle while incarcerated.

It was revealed lately that Matty had stabbed Samson Dingle (Sam Hall). But fans of the ITV serial know that Matty is not guilty of the crime since Samson was shoved into the knife by mischievous Josh Cope (Osian Morgan).

Josh tried to rob The Hide at the time of the event. Samson and Josh both lied and said that Matty assaulted him on purpose in an effort to get out of punishment.

Since the CCTV cameras had been taken down for financial reasons, Matty found that there was no proof to back up his version of events. Until his trial, Matty is being held under remand.

Recently, when Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) and his wife Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) visited Matty in prison, Moira was frightened.

When Moira brought up Matty’s prescription, he disclosed that he hadn’t had a shower since entering the jail. Later on, she attempted to coerce Samson into telling the truth, but he resisted and adhered to his initial account.

When Matty advises Amy not to visit him the next week, Amy’s worries about him intensify. When Matty calls Amy from prison, they have a tense but meaningful exchange.

When he is told to hang up the phone, he smiles bravely. When Matty goes back to his cell and finds Hardman, he tries to hide his shock. Les has moved in next to him.

Les plays a series of witty and disconcerting jokes on an alarmed Matty in his cell, making him fear for his life. When Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) pays Matty a visit later, his attempts to encourage him are unsuccessful.

Despite Cain’s best attempts to console him, a scared Matty introduces Les as his new cellmate and finds it difficult to control his feelings.

Cain encourages Matty to use violence against anyone who might endanger him because he wants to help his stepson. Matty is scared of what he might have to do because of this.

Will Matty turn to violence to protect himself?
