Actress Rebecca Bakes, well known for portraying Angelica King in the enduring ITV soap opera Emmerdale, has revealed information about her upcoming return.
Details of Angelica King’s much awaited return to the ITV soap opera have been revealed by Rebecca Bakes of Emmerdale.
Later this year, the gifted young actress will reprise her role as Angelica in Emmerdale, which returns to the heartbreaking Heath Hope death plot that occurred in the New Year.
Unexpectedly, earlier in March, Angelica was sentenced to eight months in a Secure Children’s Home after acknowledging her role in Heath’s untimely demise.
It was discovered that Heath was killed on New Year’s Eve during a deadly joyride, which Angelica was driving.
She did, however, initially avoid taking responsibility, letting Heath’s twin sister Cathy do so.
Sebastian Dowling, who had played Heath since infancy, left the show as a result of this moving story.
While speaking with Digital Spy on Saturday night, July 13, at the Radio Times Soap Awards, Rebecca hinted at the possibility that fans may see Angelica again soon.
“It should be at the end of September, so in a few months maybe,” she disclosed. Since we haven’t begun filming anything yet, I honestly don’t know.”
Rebecca said, “They kept us informed and before we even started filming it, we were told that the driver would be me. It was an explosive New Year’s storyline.” I had never done something as huge before, so it was incredibly exciting.”
While they were filming together as little kids, the actress also acknowledged that she missed actor Sebastian.
It has been hinted that Angelica has been having difficulties in the Secure Children’s Home in recent on-screen remarks. She was tormented by other children at first, but a later episode suggested that Angelica was starting to cause trouble.
Angelica’s dad Jimmy recently had a heart-to-heart with his nephew Tom and shared how sad he is that his daughter is “not my little Angel anymore.”
In response to a question about potential changes we might witness in Angelica this fall, Rebecca mused, “I don’t really know yet, but it could go in the direction of her being a rebel or going a bit downhill.”
On Saturday night, the Radio Times Soap Awards were hosted at Manchester’s Midland Hotel. Lisa Riley (Mandy Dingle) won Best Comedy Performance, while Chris Chittell (Eric Pollard) received Special Recognition, making Emmerdale the winner of two prizes.
