Fans of EastEnders were devastated earlier this year when enduring character Lola Pearce passed away following a diagnosis of an uncurable brain tumor. Jay Brown, her bereaved husband, has been in mourning ever since.

When Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) of EastEnders meets newcomer Nadine (Jazzy Phoenix), he has second thoughts about moving on from his deceased wife Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold).

After Lola was identified as having a brain tumor and passed away a few months later, Jay underwent a terrible journey.

Lexi Pearce, who is being cared for by Jay and Lexi’s father Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden), is the small daughter Lola left behind.

Official spoilers indicate that while Jay is still struggling with his bereavement, he may soon experience conflict when another woman draws his attention.

In yet-to-air scenes from the BBC soap opera, Jay returns to the Square after a night of walking because he couldn’t sleep because of his anguish.

Later, he gets warmed up when he meets Nadine, a newbie to Walford.

Before bringing Nadine for a drink in The Albert, where they were able to put the misunderstanding behind them, Jay apologizes to her for his hasty departure when they first met.

Later, Nadine asks Jay over to her house where she makes passes toward him but he rejects them.

Soon after, Nadine shows up in the Square, and Jay starts to worry about being seen with her.

Could the newest Albert Square inhabitant have attracted Jay’s eye?

It might be a budding romance, despite the fact that he might be hesitant to think of moving on just yet.

What will Lexi think of the news if the two do become close?

Stranger still, Nadine and Lola have a striking likeness.

If Jay seems to be moving on from Lola too quickly, Ben might feel dissatisfied as well. Will he try to step in?

Or perhaps Jay and Nadine could someday find new happiness together?

After Jay finally finds someone to confide in about his tremendous loss, perhaps the two will begin as friends and over time develop their bond into something more.
