Coronation Street star Kate Ford was enjoying some relaxing downtime during her break away from the cobbles.

Recent scenes for the ITV soap saw Tracy leave Weatherfield for Spain with new boyfriend Tommy Orpington, who moved in order to start a new job as a football coach.

Tracy and Tommy embarked on a sordid affair earlier this year, with Tracy eventually deciding to leave husband Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) for the decorator.

Steve was left completely devastated and was hopeful that he could win his wife back, but to no avail.

While it’s not clear when Tracy will be returning to Weatherfield, it appears Kate is enjoying her time off as she shared snaps from her recent visit to Champneys Spa.

Captioning the post, Kate, 47, wrote: ‘Back in my happy place for a few days thank you @champneysspas it was glorious !!

‘Special mention to the amazing spa girls Ashley and Sofia for sorting Otis the Cryotherapy xx was just the most rejuvenating and relaxing time in the most beautiful place. Thank you, thank you.’

Fans feared the worst after actress Kate posted a picture of herself on Instagram in April and her co-star Sally Carman, who plays Abi Webster, commented ‘I miss your face!’ suggesting that Kate was no longer filming at Corrie.

Following this, Kate posted a picture of a train that bore the destination ‘Orpington.’

It’s a place in Kent, but it’s also the destination of Tracy’s heart as Tommy Orpington’s charms proved to be too much competition for dear old Steve.

However, sources previously confirmed to Metro.co.uk earlier this year that Kate’s exit was only temporary, with the character of Tracy always tipped to return eventually.

‘Tracy’s a Corrie institution all on her own – she will never be far from the cobbles even when she lives halfway across the world. She makes a brief trip back for a week later this summer to visit her family and deal with some Barlow family drama’, a source explained to The Sun.

We were never going to say goodbye to her forever, let’s be honest!
