Just days after announcing she was leaving her radio program after a “hectic” year, Australia’s Got Talent judge Kate Ritchie made a significant new career announcement.

The 43-year-old said she was leaving Nova’s Kate, Tim, and Joel Drive Show earlier in October because she “wanted a break.”

“Both my family and I have had a very busy and demanding year. Like many of you, I have experienced a lot of change and increasing stress in a short period of time. And it has paid a price, she said.

“So, it’s easy, like some of you, I think, I’m just exhausted and I need a brief break to have more time for me, as well as for my family to re-energise,” she said.

Ritchie claimed that after talking to Nova’s executives, they concurred that it was a “appropriate moment to take the vacation.”

Ritchie stated that she will return to the program in 2023 and that the break would only be brief.

Ritchie has now revealed that she will go back to her acting origins on a brand-new Seven show.

The Claremont Murders, a gripping new thriller based on the actual abduction of three young women in Perth in the late 1990s, will star the former Home and Away fan favorite.

Ritchie wrote on Instagram, “Incredibly humbled to be engaged in this investigative drama that explores how the disappearance of three young women in Perth in the late 1990s sparked a 25-year police inquiry and one tenacious journalist.”

Ritchie’s remarks were a repost from fellow on-screen actor Aaron Glenane.

Ritchie, who is presently appearing on television as a judge on AGT, was up about the memories she treasured when the cameras stopped rolling in an interview with 7Entertainment.

The mother remarked, “I was anticipating taking a bath, spending time with my daughter, and returning to normal life doing our evening reading and checking boxes in the school diary.”
