Legend Lisa Riley of Emmerdale has spoken out about the profound effect that Robin Windsor’s passing has had.

Since the Strictly Come Dancing star passed away in February, Lisa, 47, has battled grief, as our colleagues at The Mirror have reported. Lisa has likened her grief over Robin’s passing to her own experiences following her mother’s breast cancer death in July 2012.

“So to then lose my best friend as well,” she clarified. I thought to myself, “Why does God take the best?” It hurts like nothing else.

When Lis and Robin danced during the 2012 season of Strictly Come Dancing, they became friends. “He was such a big part of my life,” Lisa remarked. I have had days when I was uncomfortable being in front of the camera. I had to put on Mandy Dingle makeup, put on a wig and eyelashes, and walk outside. But it hurts so much.

Lisa, who plays Emmerdale’s Mandy Dingle, has expressed gratitude to co-stars Emma Atkins, who portrays Charity Dingle, and Lucy Pargeter, who plays Chas Dingle, for their assistance.

“All of my Emmerdale friends have helped me,” Lisa remarked. I am so grateful to the Dingle sisters for sharing a dressing room. We are six in number.

And without words, every single person in that room has been a blessing. I have the motivation to keep filming because of them. They’ve served as excellent therapy.
