Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) is trying to come to terms with her life-changing health news in Emmerdale.

Last week, after the barn fire, Moira had some scans in hospital and discovered why she had been experiencing seizures, and sudden changes to her personality.

A doctor told Moira that she has a mass on her brain – a type of tumour called a meningioma.

The symptoms of this type of tumour include changes to personality, confusion, memory loss and seizures, all of which Moira has been experiencing in the past few weeks.

Although the tumour is non-cancerous, it has left Moira apprehensive about her future and concerned about the possibility of surgery and other treatments.

In tonight’s episode of the ITV soap, Moira was at home resting. When Chas (Lucy Pargeter) arrived with Kyle (Huey Quinn) and Isaac (Bobby Dunsmuir) back from school, they sat down and grew curious about Moira being poorly.

As Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Chas listened, Moira told Kyle and Isaac that she has a tumour. She told the young boys that she sometimes has seizures, which means they can’t be alone with her.

The news understandably panicked Isaac and Kyle. When Isaac asked his mum if she was going to die, Cain and Chas were taken aback with how blunt Moira was in her response.

A while later, Chas sat Moira down and politely said she was quite forward when telling Isaac and Kyle.

Poor Moira told Chas that she had no idea she was being like that, and was left tearful at the fact her self-awareness had also been impacted as a result of the tumour.

A long road lies ahead for Moira and her family. What will happen next as they try and adapt to this massive change?

Actress Natalie J Robb, who has played Moira since 2009, said: ‘I feel really fortunate to be trusted with such a challenging storyline.

‘Moira and her family have an extremely challenging time ahead, and I’m hoping I can portray it in a truthful way that does justice to all the people who are really suffering with a brain tumour.’
