Reunited with a cobbles co-star, a CORONATION Street star has signed up for a brand-new BBC sitcom.
The Sun has learned that Bill Fellows has secured his first acting gig since his departure from Corrie.
We previously told how the 67-year-oldĀ chose not to renew his contract with ITV after three years.
And now Bill has signed on for a role in Smoggie Queens, which is centred around a group of LGBTQ+ friends and their community.
Bill has already shot his scenes for the comedy, which is expected to debut soon.
He’s joined former co-star Alexandra Mardell who also stars in the Beeb series.
Also in the cast is Patsy Lowe, Elijah Young, Mark Benton and Phil Dunning.
Bill – who plays Stu Carpenter inĀ CorrieĀ – will bow out in a major storyline later this year.
A source said: āThree years is a long time to spend playing one role and while Bill has loved his time at Corrie, heās ready to move on.
āHe told bosses earlier this year that he would like to leave at the end of his three year contract and they have crafted an exciting exit storyline for him.
āHe will still be on screen for some time yet but it gave him chance to say yes to a number ofĀ jobsĀ he was keen to do later this year.ā
Before Bill arrived on the cobbles in 2021 he starred in smash-hit series Ted Lasso playing George.
